Monica Sabella
About Me:
I am a journalist that loves to explore life kinaesthetically.

Currently, I work for the nonprofit and nationally recognized Edsel and Eleanor Ford Estate as its horticulturalist and rosarian. I also write a monthly blog to share my journey and current projects.
I'm a positive soul that believes every new opportunity is a chance to grow.
Clear, concise communication makes that possible.
I've spent years honing my craft and have been known to dedicate enormous amounts of energy to pursue my passions. I moved from a small town in Michigan to Ecuador's capital with the intention of immersing myself in a foreign language and budding journalism career. I believe my energy, passion, precision and determination translates positively into my work.
I provide writing, research, copyediting and photography. I edit audios, photos, and video; manage some social media and financial accounts. I can read, write and communicate in two languages.
My Work:
I began my career at my neighborhood newspaper, the Grosse Pointe News, before moving to Ecuador, where I worked for Latin America's largest media news organization, teleSUR English.
In the past, I've worked as a writer and editor in two newspapers, an editorial assistant at an Ecuadorean radio station, a social media manager for a nonprofit organization, a freelance photographer and web developer, a bartender, a landscaper, as well as a clerk in a real estate management company. I'm a jack of all trades and am well-accustomed to learning on the go.
I work well on teams and have also lead some as large as 20 professionals throughout my career. I now train young gardening professionals and guide students on the autism spectrum in the trade.
I graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a double minor in Spanish and digital marketing.

I speak English and Spanish and have a basic knowledge of Italian and Latin.
